European Clubs v/s Spanish & Italian Clubs

Hi ppl,

Am back again. This time am gonna talk abt this topic which has been haunting me for a long time. Everytime i try to forget it, some unfortunate events happen and the thoughts are back to haunt me.

What are these events? Most you might be thinking by now.

Let me get to the point and make things clear

The fact is that i have a soft corner for the EPL (English Premier League)
Everytime i watch an UEFA Championship/ UEFA Cup match and i see an EPL team perform poorly, i get really sad.

What is their problem?
Why can’t the EPL teams out perform the Spanish/Italian League teams?

I was really happy last year when an EPL team (Liverpool) won the UEFA Champions League.
Coz most of the time they(EPL teams) get knocked out in the Group of 16/Quarter’s/Semi’s
only a few make it to the finals, but hardly a few of them win.

The level of their game is poor when compared to those of their counterparts.
They don’t have the fire in them when they are playing in the field.

Spanish/Italian league matches are so competitive.
They put in their heart n soul, they dive, they push, they commit fouls, they take cards (not the Archie ones) ,etc…..
But in EPL they play a clean match, they rarely commit fouls expect for some.

Will they ever rise the level of their game & match that of their competitors?

I hope someday they will leave their professionalism and get to playing real hardcore football, but i guess that the charm of EPL – professionalism

Neways i’ll keep cheering for the EPL teams especially “CHELSEA”, until i have more strong reasons to stop cheering for them

Hail EPL!!!

    @Kurt,
    What crap are you talking!!
    EPL teams dont win European Chapionships simply coz they don’t dive. Common, you are more smart than that.
    EPL teams dont win coz they dont have the big heart. They dont feel like going out and performing. And they dont have great players. Period.
    But, surely with better players willing to play in EPL coz of the money/glamour, we would see more English teams winning European Championships.

    Cheers,
    HP
    “Hail Chelsea”

    @Vinod:(hate adressing ya Kurt), newez so u c i read this post n u know i dont follow futball at all.i just know david beckham(i hope i’ve spelt him rite!) and that he looks damn cute.U need’nt necessarily follow his game…….so wen i saw him for the first time(on tv of course) , i forgot wht all he does/plays whtever,n fell fer his good looks n hair styles of course…. So Sorry i can’t really comment on EPL or BPL or whtever 😉

    Hey HP dude,

    If had i said that they don’t dive.
    i meant they don’t give their 100% to the game.

    I thought atleast you would understand wht am trying to say?
    Neways not a problem, will explain things more clearly next time around.

    As of now let’s hope tht Arsenal continue their good run.

    But dont forget “Chelsea Rocks”

    Hey mattu,
    Thanks for the comments & follow the games regularly, coz there are many cuties n hotties other than Becks in this game.
    Happy hunting 🙂

    @Kurt,
    ok, Dude. Be more clear the next time 🙂

    Surely, Chelsea Rocks!!!

    And, Henry played good for the first time in a big match 🙂 So, hopefully Arsenal will win the Champions League. But, my bet would be on Milan. Still, lets see.

    @mattu,
    Surely, you can see football only for the hotties. But, can you please look at other guys and I mean guys not some pansy footballer like Beckham.

    If you get time, just watch the La Liga(Spanish League) or the Italian League 🙂

    Cheers,

    @HP
    Thanx fer ur advice HP, will follow, or at least try to do so!

  7. April 3, 2006 at 12:52 pm

    #HP,

    I think neither Arsenal nor Milan will be crowned the Champs.
    But it will be Barcelona turn this time.
    They have a complete army of good players, every1 from their defenders to forwards play a competitive match everytime they enter the field.

    May the Best team win.
    My bet is on Barcelona.

    #mattu,
    Look out for Francesco Totti/Kaka from the Italian League, just an example there are many of them

  9. April 3, 2006 at 3:46 pm

    @Dirt
    (Cant refer to u as Kurt.it wud be an insult on the great man )Barca it will be. U can bet ur money on that. Okay they played out a draw against Benefica but they are playing like God at the moment. Their players are jellin together. Samuel Eto may well hit many more goals wot with Ronaldinho ,Deco,Messi spoon-feeding him.Along with their attack their defence too is sound enough.

    @Barca Supporters,
    Barca is a great team! No two opinions about it.
    But, still I feel Arsenal or Milan will be crowned the champions this year..

    @HP
    which Milan r u talkin abt?
    And y do u wanna lose?

    @Dirt
    How dare u say tht Barcelona cheated against Chelsea. Chelsea just got back wot they do .Who can forget the numerous times Drogba has playacted to get a penalty in his favour or to get sum1 sent off.
    BTW Barca it will be whether u like it or not

    @Mattu
    Thanks for backing me on this one

    April 5, 2006 at 12:27 pm

    @Snehal,

    Drogba’s play-acting has rarely resulted in penalties for Chelsea. So stop crapping about that mate!!!

    Ronaldinho!! Just that player!!

    Remove him from Barca and then we will see how many goals Eto scores on his own!!

    Cheers,
    HP
