End of an ERA……

I dedicate this post Michael Schumacher……

Last Sunday saw the end of an era……
An era that lasted for more than a decade, an era with a lot of UPs and some downs….
An era that revoutionized Formula1, coz everyone wanted & wants to be like him…
When ppl speak abt Formula1, he’s the guy who comes first to everybody’s mind. He has been a synonym for Formula1 for a very long time.

As a child i was a big Schumi fan… i used ape his ritual Podium Jump whenever he did a podium finish.

I think every Formula1 enthusiast in this world would have hoped that Michael finished his career on a high, but destiny had some other plans for him……
Alonso’s luck came to his help again, coz his driving skills were not helping him get closer to the title.

I was really heart broken after his exit from the race, coz the fact is that i alweyz had a soft corner for Schumi. He’s a no nonsense kinda guy, who’ll do anything to WIN…. i.e. Lie, Cheat, Steal šŸ˜€

He is an idol for many budding racers. (for the good reasons, of course)
All these youngsters look upto him with gr8 respect; which he rightly deserves.
Even after he’s gone, he will be alweyz remembered as the Greatest Driver in Formula1.

for (int i=0; i<3; i++) {
System.out.println(“HIP HIP HURRAY!!! (chorus)”);
šŸ˜€Ā  šŸ˜€
But the story is not over till now, coz there’s one more race remaining…….
So put on ur seat belts, coz the next race is gonna be a thriller…

Finally i would request all the readers @ my blog to post atleast one comment on this post, coz i have tied up with an Occult Practitioner called Baba Bengali Sao-Paulowale; and for every comment you post he’ll pierce an needle on Alonso’s F1 car’s Model; so tht Schumi can easily win the race…

Note: i dont want comments on which Model are u talking abt?? Rose/XDE model or Super Models: Carol G/Nina M/John A…

aah Kurt, I was gonna write a longish post on Schumi’s influence on F1 and motorsport in general. But, you pretty much said whatever was to be said.
It was always the in thing to hate Schumi and diss Ferrari. And the fact that some of their actions were cause of some heartburn cannot be disputed. But, F1 will not be the same without Schumi in his red suit.

And, unlike others, I still feel Schumi can win this one. Alonso just needs to crash and Schumi needs to win. Simple as that šŸ™‚

And glad that Kurt has decided to take the help of Baba Bengali. Never hurts to take extra precaution, does it šŸ™‚

PS : Love this new template..

i think schumi’s smile is the world’s best smile šŸ™‚
    that’s all
    thank you

    Am sorry dude….
    But i couldn’t resist writing abt Schumi…
Neways i really hope he wins @ Sao Paulo, i really dont care where Alonso finishes the race. All i want is to see him on the podium, doing his podium jump šŸ˜€

Kurt it was really sad to see Schumi’s engine blow out, The moment I saw smoke my heart sank. I yelled noooo… this can’t happen he is winning……… aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.

But I couldn’t stop it and his chances of winning the title blew away with the smoke. Waiting to see him on the podium for the last time.

its a known fact that great sportsmen have retired as loosers or in an embarassing manner, if not that atleast not in a way they’d (or the world) wish to. for eg Steve Waugh,
    Zidane in the recent past.

I dont see that seems to be happening to Schumi, but its not the way he or any of F1 or Schumi fans wanted him to retire.
After dominating 37 laps and this doomed event happened that too for the first time after Apr 2000. what more could Alonso ask.

As a schumi fan i m still optimistic of him winning the world chamionship and hope it happens.

hey wid the things coming in the news tht Renalut is egging Schumi on(ye syou heard right – Renault) I guess we may hav things in store for the next grand prix… Neways as a role model i admire schumi. The fame ,adulation he has earned is remarkable. But as a sportsman i m not too convinced abt him. Newayz this is and always will be a topic for Hot debate so wud not like to start again.. Neways wud not like to dilute the sentiments tht have been reflected here in the post and seriously for once I hope he wins this race.irrespective or Alonso finishing or not. Atleast he’ll be leaving wid his head held high.

May all your wishes be granted….

    Hey dude….. good to see u here…..
I hope you stay out here for a long time šŸ˜€

Neways abt ur analysis, i think tht u have a good point here….
coz all the Biggies had a sad end to the regime…
But i really pray tht history does not repeat itself here…

I really dont think, Schumi will go for tht deal…. but who knows…

Yeah he’s got one the best smile….

You said that you admire him as a role model but not as a sportsman. If by a bad sportsman, you are talking about the innumerable gaffes that he did or the allegations levelled against him, then he is not great a role model either.

Would like you to explain the statement a bit more.

I feel its upto you to decide which qualities of ur Role Model do u wanna accept & also act upon it. But you can alweyz keep arguing on this topic for hours…

Yeah..One can aurgue on this for hours. Just that I wanna know Snehal’s version of a role model and a sportsman šŸ™‚

I suppose u’ll have to wait for a long time then, coz besides u & As If, no one else frequently visits my blog… šŸ˜¦
I’ll hav to send out one more mail regarding this to all… šŸ™‚

As a role model i admire him for wot he is off the field more. The way he conducts himself off the track .His humility, the way he has handled all the fame and adulation. Wot he has done for the sport itself. Tis not that i dont admire him for his driving style too. He is just superb at times. But there hav been time s where his style has well.. Like him trying to run out Villenueve. Also two yrs prior to that he took Damon Hill out with him in the last race wen there was little to seperate them . But like i told u .I wudnt want to bring this point up again for debate… Tis been raging on for years already

I was not arguing for argument’s sake. Sincerely, I was not getting the difference.

This makes sense. Schumi has been one of the most non-controversial figures off the track. And his conduct outside the track has been worth emulating.
And as you said, the same cant be said about his on-field performance. But probably, his drive to win always overpowered him.

    # Ppl

It alweyz the case the world will alweyz remember the bad things tht you do, even if you had done a 100 good things…
I agree wid HP, tht Schumi’s will to win has alweyz overpowered him…

when i started watching F1 there was only one name that i knew abt, yes u guessed it right
At that time Schumi used to win all d races and it went down to appear boring to me cause i already knew who d winner would be, but there were some amazing races where Schumi used to rock n roll and go past 14 drivers to be the ultimate winner, and that is wat made him champion.
talking abt the last race which Alonso Eventually won, and everyone thought he was happy about it and jumping wid joy on camera, actually he was happy about Schumi losing, thats wat i think.

  18. October 19, 2006 at 6:36 am

    Alonso is the future Schumi….
Now its upto you to decide,
If its a compliment for Alonso or a comment for Schumi or vice versa šŸ˜€
